The Connections Application is available. See below.  

Thank you for your interest in our group, Connections.   We are a group of member volunteers.  We need your assistance, so please be ready to participate and lead an interest group

                                Connections New Application Process as of January 6, 2026

• Each Applicant must have a Sponsor to apply for membership.
• The sponsor must be a member of connections for 1 year.
• The member can only sponsor 1 applicant per year. If the applicant does not have a sponsor, processing the application may be delayed, as we may have difficulty locating a sponsor. 
• The application should be completed and sent to the sponsor along with the check for membership ($60 check made out to FPC Connections).
• The sponsor will review the application for completeness and forward the application to the membership chair, (Susan J. Steele, 200 Brook Street Harrington Park, N.J. 07640). Only applications sent by United States Postal Service will be accepted by the membership Chair.

• Once the membership chair receives the application and check, she will place the applicant on a list of applicants compiled in chronological order.

• Please note: the check will not be cashed until the member is introduced at the second General Membership meeting.
• New members cannot participate in Connections activities until they are introduced, receive their name tag and their check is cashed.
•  Applicants, accompanied by their sponsors, will attend two General Meetings before being introduced and then will be able to participate in Connections activities.

•  

  Applicants will be introduced at the second General Meeting that they attend.

• The Membership Secretary will keep a list of applicants who are pending membership.

• We have capped membership at 250.

                                            General Membership Information

Activity groups are currently being held at the Bergen County Northwest Senior Center, the First Presbyterian Church, the Hawthorne, River Edge, Paramus, and Ridgewood Libraries, the DePhilips Center in Midland Park, at local venues for walking, hiking, lunch, Twin Willows in Lincoln Park for Golf and occasionally in members’ homes.

General membership meetings are held monthly.  All members are welcome.  General meetings will be held at the First Presbyterian Church.   Please check email for meeting dates and agenda.

Parking: Please park in the center spots in the church parking lot on South Van Dien Street marked “CH”. We will provide parking signs for your car so you won’t be ticketed.  Click Here   Street parking is available from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm on Circle Avenue, John Street and Reynen Court.  Please read the parking signs on these streets to know which side of the street allows parking.

Yearly Dues Remittance: Yearly dues cover Jan 1-Dec 31 and are payable Dec 1st of previous year.  Dues are currently $60.   Make check payable to FPC-Connections.   Please include your name, email address and phone number so we can connect your payment to you.  Returning members please send dues to Lee Atieh  27 Grove St, Oakland, NJ 07436

Senior Center Registration Form and Nutritional Health Survey:  Some of our current activity groups meet at the Midland Park Senior Center.  In order to do this, we are required to “join” the center by filling out the Senior Center Registration Form and Nutritional Health Survey.  Please complete and send to Bergen County Northwest Senior Center, 50 Center St, Midland Park, NJ 07432  or to northwestcenter@co.bergen.nj.us
